Sell Lightroom Presets on Shopify: Compatibility and Delivery

In this guideJump to a section +

A preset pack should tell photographers what look it creates, which workflow it supports and how to install it. Good preview images and accurate compatibility information do more than a large preset count.

Test the target Lightroom workflow

Identify the Lightroom product and versions you support. Preset import and file formats vary by workflow, so follow Adobe’s current instructions and test on the supported desktop or mobile setup. Do not label every export universally compatible.

Show representative before-and-after images

Use photos you own or have permission to publish. Explain the starting conditions and any adjustments outside the preset. Avoid implying one preset will produce identical results across all cameras, lighting and exposure settings.

Package a small installation guide

Include a readme, compatibility information and an example workflow. Organise files by supported use rather than leaving the buyer to guess. Tell customers where to look if an imported preset does not appear.

Support the result, not a magic promise

Presets are starting points. Explain expected adjustments to exposure and white balance, and define the support you offer. A helpful sample preset can let a buyer test compatibility before purchasing the complete pack.

Your practical action plan

  1. Prepare the deliverable. Keep an original backup and publish a clear version. List the formats, compatibility and licence scope before the customer purchases.
  2. Connect and test in Shopify. Map the file, link or key to the right product and variant. Use the appropriate standard, custom or scheduled delivery mode. Check a controlled purchase on desktop and mobile.
  3. Choose capacity and monitor it. Use catalogue size and expected monthly transfer to choose a plan. Track actual usage and support questions after launch, especially before a promotion.

Before you publish

  • The product page matches the actual files, access and timing.
  • A sample or preview reflects the product customers receive.
  • The purchase, email and mobile access route have been tested.
  • Compatibility, licence terms and support contact are easy to find.
  • Capacity and costs have been checked against the current plan.
