Electronic software distribution is more than sending an installer. A workable setup connects the correct version, the buyer’s licence and clear installation instructions.
Keep delivery and activation separate

Package for the supported environment
Name operating systems and versions explicitly. Keep Windows, macOS or other installers mapped to the right product variant. Include a version number, release notes and the support policy in the download package.
Design an update policy before selling
Tell buyers whether the price covers a major version, a period of updates or future releases. Keep previous installers where your policy requires them. Test whether a product-file update affects past buyers before using it for a rollout.
Track exceptions
Plan how to handle an empty key pool, a failed activation, a refund and a device replacement. Keep order and key exports secure. Only collect information required for the licensing and support workflow.

- Prepare the deliverable. Keep an original backup and publish a clear version. List the formats, compatibility and licence scope before the customer purchases.
- Connect and test in Shopify. Map the file, link or key to the right product and variant. Use the appropriate standard, custom or scheduled delivery mode. Check a controlled purchase on desktop and mobile.
- Choose capacity and monitor it. Use catalogue size and expected monthly transfer to choose a plan. Track actual usage and support questions after launch, especially before a promotion.

- The purchase, email and mobile access route have been tested.
- Compatibility, licence terms and support contact are easy to find.
