An automatic stamping workflow should produce a readable customer copy after a purchase without manual editing. Test the original document, stamp settings and delivery route together.
Prepare an unprotected PDF
Keep a clean master and confirm that its pages render correctly. BIG’s public documentation says PDF stamping requires a PDF that is not password protected. Upload the actual PDF rather than assuming a PDF inside an archive will be processed the same way.
Configure and test the stamp
Use the options exposed in the app and a controlled purchase. Check the buyer details, position and legibility across multiple page layouts. Do not rely only on an admin preview if the delivered file can be tested.
Know the difference from a manual watermark
Our free PDF watermark tool adds the same text to every page in your browser. It is useful for preparing samples or reminders. It does not connect to Shopify orders or personalise each buyer’s copy; the in-app workflow handles purchase-based stamping.
Document exceptions
Tell support how to handle a protected source PDF, an unreadable stamp or a buyer who cannot download. Keep the original backed up. Review the result again after changing the master file or its page dimensions.

- Prepare the deliverable. Keep an original backup and publish a clear version. List the formats, compatibility and licence scope before the customer purchases.
- Connect and test in Shopify. Map the file, link or key to the right product and variant. Use the appropriate standard, custom or scheduled delivery mode. Check a controlled purchase on desktop and mobile.
- Choose capacity and monitor it. Use catalogue size and expected monthly transfer to choose a plan. Track actual usage and support questions after launch, especially before a promotion.

- A sample or preview reflects the product customers receive.
- The purchase, email and mobile access route have been tested.
- Compatibility, licence terms and support contact are easy to find.
- Capacity and costs have been checked against the current plan.
